Who we are
WHERE COMPETITION MEETS CAMARADERIE
Battle of the Badges is a law enforcement–only shooting competition built to challenge skills, encourage ongoing training, and strengthen the law enforcement community through competition.
Founded by Preston Woodrum, a law enforcement officer with a passion for competitive shooting and practical performance, Battle of the Badges is designed to reflect the realities officers face—where accuracy, efficiency, and accountability matter.
Battle of the Badges is proudly operated in partnership with Team One Network, a veteran-owned organization with more than two decades of experience supporting law enforcement and military training nationwide. Together, we’re committed to building a professional, officer-focused match that continues to raise the standard year after year.
Our Founder: Preston Woodrum
Preston Woodrum is a Sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia, where he has served since 2018. He has held roles as an Assistant SWAT Team Leader and Assistant Lead Firearms Instructor, bringing real-world operational and instructional experience to the range.
Preston founded Battle of the Badges in 2022 with a clear goal: create a law enforcement–only competition that reflects real-world performance, encourages ongoing training, and brings officers together through shared challenge. What began as a local idea has grown into a nationally expanding match built around accountability, efficiency, and skill under pressure.
Following the 2024 event, Preston partnered with Team One Network to continue growing Battle of the Badges into a multi-event series. Together, they’re committed to raising the standard for officer-focused competition year after year.
Team One Network’s Role
Team One Network plays a key role in the continued growth of Battle of the Badges. As a veteran-owned organization with more than two decades of experience supporting law enforcement and military training, Team One Network brings the infrastructure, industry relationships, and operational support needed to scale the competition responsibly.
Through this partnership, Battle of the Badges has expanded from a single event into a multi-event series, while maintaining its officer-focused mission. Team One Network’s involvement strengthens the overall experience by supporting professional match operations, training-driven stage design, and opportunities for officers to connect with peers and industry partners nationwide.
